BC Hydro has approved a new plan to expand its transmission infrastructure in anticipation of UBC’s expanding electrical demands.
The 12 megawatt expansion will to allow campus district energy system to not only meet projected heating demand needs of new buildings, but will also enable over 50% of the campus heating requirements to be met by a clean renewable resource.

The haunted power house at UBC lit up last Halloween, raising almost $1750 for the United Way Campaign by offering spooky tours and a staff lunch. For their efforts and creativity, employees Richard Hugli and Shaun Filwok were recognized as 2017 Campaign Heroes.

Joshua will be responsible for developing optimization opportunities for existing utility systems, energy efficiency, and water conservation projects as well as business case development for new utility infrastructure and systems.
